You’re probably the prettiest girl in the room,

And you know why it is?

It’s because you are strong

And you’re loving yourself

In a way that is beautiful,

I had a meeting with the Assistant Head at school today. She runs the course for the early career teachers, so I was a bit worried about what the feedback would be.

I was worried, but I also know that I’ve come on in leaps and bounds over the past few weeks and so I could go into the meeting with concrete evidence around why I’m on track.

As I talked through some of the improvements I’ve made, she just smiled at me and I felt a bit awkward. As I paused she said, it’s so nice to see you looking this confident; I’ve never seen you speaking this way.

I was kind of taken aback, but then I felt a little buzz of pride in myself because confidence is never something I really exude. It was a really pleasant experience and it makes me aware of how much I’m growing as a person as I make my way along this teaching journey.
