the true crime podcaster

He creeps around in murky shadows,

A ghost passing underneath the tape,

Yellow and flapping in the wind,

A warning, stay away from here.

But clues are waiting over there

On the other side, calling out,

The knowledge that the story there

Will pull in listeners eager for

The scoop, the juicy details. Blood

That drips from murder weapons will

Be just the missing piece to bring him fame

As his southern drawl reels out

Across the radio waves.

You’ve captured those podcasts really well, Rachel! I often wonder, too, why people get so obsessed with them, but they do. There’s something irresistible about them, especially if they’re unsolved cases.
