Girls in football boots,
Knee high socks and scientists
Who’ve analysed their stride
And how they take a penalty.
No longer are they laughing stocks,
They’re proper athletes taking on the world
And now the women have the chance
To show men how its done.

The Lionesses have certainly shown the world that female athletes are formidable contenders, and not to be dismissed. They have talent, courage, and drive, and they behave like professional athletes. I wish them all success.

I’m not even a football fan, and I’m looking forward to this tournament because I so want to see them do well. 1966 was the last time England won a World Cup- that’s a long time!
