i watched father of the bride 2 for the second time in a month, so something’s definitely wrong

The nervous lump of heavy stone

That presses down inside, taking breath away.

And sometimes only movies from the past

Can soothe the breathless anxiousness

That clamours at my throat.

That nostalgic script and play

Will always see those heavy blues away.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes the only way to get myself out of a funk is to watch a movie that makes me smile. I have a whole list of them and I know that each and every one of them can heal my wounds and help me get up off the sofa and face at least part of the day.

I’m super stressed at the moment so I’m becoming a bit reliant on these movies and Father of the Bride 2 has been watched twice in recent weeks. Furthermore, I found myself sobbing by the end of it, which is never a good sign.

Still, it can sometimes be such a therapeutic act to let it all out, and if I have to do it in front of a silly movie, then that’s what I’ll do.

I think that next time I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed I’m going to have to whip out Music and Lyrics because Hugh Grant makes everything in life feel better. He’s no Steve Martin but he’s pretty epic as a washed up 80’s pop star.

Much Love

Rachel xx
